The second doctoral student conference of the two partner institutes Fraunhofer IOF and IAP took place on 3 April 2025 at the ACP Building. A special feature this year: the organisation was entirely in the hands of the doctoral students.
Poster sessions took centre stage at the conference. This gave the young scientists the opportunity to present their research projects and current issues to their fellow researchers and discuss them in depth. The programme was supplemented by summary lectures by prominent researchers from the various working groups, including Prof. Limpert, Dr Beckert and Dr Eilenberger.
Of particular importance was the election of the first joint Doctoral Council of the two institutes. In future, this council will act as a representative body for doctoral students in the Institute Council and thus further strengthen cooperation and working environment.
Aims of the Student Council
Promotion of scientific and personal exchange (networking):
Intensification of communication and cooperation between doctoral students at IAP and IOF
Improving communication with the institute level:
- Bundling and structured collection of problems in order to make systematic challenges visible
- Presentation of frequently occurring problems and needs to the institute management

Cooperation is warmly welcomed!
