Get a Smooth Start with StET 

The Orientation Days (StET) offer you the perfect start to your studies at the Faculty of Physics and Astronomy (PAF) Jena. Take this opportunity to get to know key contact points and support services, connect with your fellow students, and familiarise yourself with the PAF. This way, you will lay a solid foundation for a motivated and successful beginning to your studies.

In addition to the StET, we also recommend you attending the Mathematics Preparatory Course, which is specifically designed to refresh your math skills and prerpare you for your studies. You can find more information about the Mathematics Preparatory Course page.

The StET are organised in close collaboration with the student council of the Faculty of Physics and Astronomy.

Date & Place of the Orientation Days 2026

The orientation days (STET) for the summer term of 2026 will take place as follows:

  • on March 27, 2026, as part of the preparatory course (timetable planning, introduction to Friedolin)
  • all day on April 2, 2026 (city tour, introduction to the examination regulations, barbeque, etc.). The event begins at 8:30 a.m. in Lecture Hall 2, Helmholtzweg 5.
