Our research group combines theory, modeling, simulation, and experimental implementation in photonics and nanophotonics. We work on fundamental questions concerning the interaction of light with matter and translate these into technological concepts. Our focus is on quantum phenomena in coupled light systems, the development and optimization of nano-optical components such as nanowire lasers, the nonlinear dynamic behavior of polaritons, and the investigation of hybrid nanostructures for applications in spectroscopy, microscopy, photovoltaics, and catalysis. The aim is to understand fundamental mechanisms and develop new functional principles for real-world technologies.
