
PhD Positions in Numerical Relativity

The numerical relativity group at Friedrich Schiller University in Jena anticipates the availability of up to two
PhD Positions in Numerical Relativity
commencing in September 2023. The positions are TV-L/E13 part-time positions at 50% (20 hours per week), limited to 3 years.
The positions are associated with the research group of Prof. Bernd Brügmann at the Institute for Theoretical Physics Jena.
Your responsibilities:
- Work on your own scientific qualification project, .e.g. doctorate
- Teaching for two hours per week during the semester
Your profile:
- Applicants with a background in numerical relativity, especially in the area of gravitational wave science or associated computational and mathematical methods are especially encouraged to apply.
- Master’s degree in Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science
